How Do You Know You're Ready For Therapy?

You don’t always reach a breaking point. Sometimes it’s quieter than that.
It might be a growing tiredness inside you. A loop you can’t seem to break. A longing you can’t quite name.
Maybe everything looks fine on the outside—but inside, you’re asking:
Why do I still feel like this?
Why can’t I speak up, even when I want to?
Is this really how I’m meant to feel, day after day?
🌱 There’s No Perfect Moment— Only a Gentle Nudge from Within
You don’t need to have it all figured out to seek support. You don’t need a diagnosis, a dramatic story, or a plan.
Sometimes, just knowing that something feels off is enough. The readiness isn’t about confidence—it’s about willingness. Even just the willingness to look, to ask, to wonder: What else might be possible?
🔍 Where Do You Start?
You can begin by getting curious:
What patterns or feelings keep showing up?
Where in life are you shrinking, fawning, or holding back?
Are you always “fine,” but never free?
Try journaling, reflecting, or simply pausing to notice. Talk to someone you trust. Let yourself be honest—just with you, to begin with.
There’s no rush, no checklist to complete. Just a quiet invitation to come back to yourself.
🧭 Choosing the Right Path for You
There are many different ways to heal—therapy, coaching, EFT, somatic work, inner child healing, group spaces, and more. And understandably, it can feel overwhelming at first.
So take your time. Do your research. Ask questions. And most of all—trust how it feels.
If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t right for you. The right support should feel safe, spacious, and grounded—not like another performance.
There is someone out there who will feel like the right fit. Please don’t give up.
Look for qualified practitioners, accredited organisations, or trusted personal recommendations.
This journey is yours—you get to choose how, when, and with whom you walk it.
💛 You Don’t Have to Be Certain. You Just Have to Be Willing.
You just have to notice that quiet voice inside—the one that’s wondering if there might be more.
More peace. More truth. More space to be you.
And when you’re ready to listen to that voice—whether it’s today, next week, or sometime down the line—that in itself is the beginning.
No pressure. No perfect timing. Just a slow return to yourself, in your own way.
💡 Thinking About Working With Me?
If something in this blog has resonated with you, and you're starting to wonder what working together might actually look like, I’ve written a separate piece that gently walks you through the process—step by step.
It includes what to expect in sessions, how to get started, and how I work using a blend of counselling, EFT, and intuitive guidance.
